Bonney Lake is a city that is part of Pierce County. According to the US Census Bureau, Bonney Lake occupies a total area of 8.01 square miles, and the 7.94 square miles is mainly composed of land. Meanwhile, the remaining 0.07 square miles is water.
With this land area, the city has an estimated population density of 2,187.6 people per square mile. Back then, when Bonney Lake was still a humble town, it was founded by Kenneth Simmons. It was only on February 28, 1949 when Bonney Lake officially became a town.
According to the 2000 census data, there were a total of 9,687 people residing in the Bonney Lake. There were 3,404 housing units to cater to the 3,266 households. Moreover, 63.7% of the households were married couples. On average, each household would have around 2.96 members.
