South Hill is one of the census-designated place found in Pierce County. Cities like Edgewood and Milton are found on the North Hill area. Because this census-designated place is on the opposite side, it was why the CDP was named South Hill. Plus, the location is directly north of the southern portion Puyallup River valley.
The US Census Bureau reported that the total population of South Hill was 52,431 during the April 1, 2010 survey.
